ASD Tennistavolo capua player, Tobi Falana will make his debut at the inaugural 2019 ITTF Challenge Plus Portugal Open. The ITTF Open will take place from 13th to 17th February, 2019 in the Pavilhao Casal Vistoso in Lisbon.

The Kwara state born player told www.aclsports.com he wants to upset big wigs at the ITTF Open.

Falana who is ranked 309 in the world noted that the tournament will help increase his rankings.

He said, “I want to create upset and get more points in this competition so that my world ranking moves forward.  Featuring at the ITTF Portugal Open means a lot for me as my club side has been supportive.

“My club ASD Tennistavolo capua gave me the platform to improve and I want to use the challenge as an experiment too” he said.

Falana was Nigeria junior captain in 2016 for the World Junior Table Tennis Tournament and won gold in the team event at the 2018 ITTF Africa Senior Open also qualifying for the 2019 World cup in Tokyo.
