Ini Umotong scored her first English Women’s Super League goal of the season for Brighton in Friday night’s 2-2 home draw with Reading.

The hosts had to come from behind through Umotong to take the lead. Brighton were down by a goal early on but soon levelled the score before the Nigerian international shot them into the lead for the first time in the game.

Lec Le Garrec teed up Umotong in the 34th minute as the Super Falcons striker scored her first goal of the season in front of the home fans.

The Brighton defence were however unable to hold on as they conceded an equaliser in added time.

Ini Umotong, who lasted the duration of the match has now scored three goals in 11 appearances in all competitions for Brighton this season.

Asisat Oshoala was a 71st minute substitute as Barcelona Femeni recorded a resounding 4-0 win over Valencia Femenino away from home.

Despite being on the pitch for barely 25 minutes, the Super Falcons striker stung the palms of the Valencia Femeni goalkeeper twice but was unable to add to her team’s tally on the day.

The win takes Barcelona Femeni top of the Primera Iberdrola table three points ahead of the defending champions and their closest rivals Atletico Madrid.
