FC Robo Queens have sealed their spot in the NWFL Premiership Super Six from Group B, while Nasarawa Amazons close in on qualification after a dramatic Matchday 16 across centres, www.aclsports.com reports.

In Lagos, at the Inspire SA Pitch, FC Robo Queens edged Remo Stars Ladies 1-0 in a tightly contested encounter. Rafiu Tosin scored the decisive goal in first-half stoppage time, rising highest to head in Rodiat Yusuf’s corner for her sixth goal of the season. Remo Stars Ladies had earlier seen a goal ruled out, while goalkeeper Nkiruka Obidinma produced several crucial saves to keep her side in the game. Robo Queens, however, held firm to secure all three points and confirm their Super Six qualification.

Nasarawa Amazons delivered one of the standout performances of the round, thrashing Confluence Queens 4-0 at Lafia City Stadium to move within touching distance of qualification. Ayatsea Hembafan struck twice in the first half to set the tone, before Omotoke Ogunfuwa added a third. Osinachi Ugbala completed the rout after the break as the Amazons dominated from start to finish.

Aba was the scene of controversy as Abia Angels defeated Delta Queens 2-0 at Enyimba Stadium. Delta Queens protested the opening goal scored by Funmilayo Adefuye in the 66th minute, before tensions escalated when their coach ordered players off the pitch while play was still ongoing.

With Abia Angels continuing play, confusion followed as several Delta Queens players were still going off the field, while others scrambled back to defend. Two minutes after the opener, Miracle Usani capitalised on the disorganisation, with the goalkeeper also off her line and walking out of position, to score into an empty net for 2-0.

Elsewhere, Ahudiyannem Queens returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Dannaz Ladies at the Umuahia Township Stadium. Mary Lucky opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Tobi Oghenerugba sealed the win after the break.

Sunshine Queens continued their revival under coach Tayo Onilude with a 3-0 win over Osun Babes in Akure, making it three matches unbeaten. Moyinoluwa Owolabi, Toyin Oyewale, and Bunmi Adenuga were among the goals.

Bayelsa Queens maintained top spot in Group A with a 2-0 win over Adamawa Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium, courtesy of Sofiat Bankole and Delight Isaac.

Heartland Queens recorded a notable 2-1 victory over Rivers Angels in Owerri, while in Ibadan, Pacesetter Queens and Edo Queens played out a goalless draw, with the hosts missing a penalty.

Table Implications

In Group A, Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, and Rivers Angels have all secured Super Six qualification. Bayelsa lead with 33 points, Edo Queens follow on 32, and Rivers Angels sit on 31. Pacesetter Queens and Naija Ratels have been relegated.

In Group B, FC Robo Queens top the table with 35 points and are confirmed for the Super Six. Nasarawa Amazons sit second with 29 points, while Abia Angels remain in contention in third with 27 points. Remo Stars Ladies are fourth on 24 points, leaving a tight race for the remaining spots with two matches left.

Ahudiyannem Queens and Sunshine Queens occupy mid-table positions on 19 points alongside Delta Queens and Dannaz Ladies, although Dannaz are now in the relegation zone. Osun Babes sit ninth, while Confluence Queens remain bottom of the table.
