Alex Iwobi proved his worth once again after coming off the bench to combine with Alexandre Lacazette in Arsenal 1-1 draw against Liverpool at the Emirates.

A well struck effort just after the hour mark by James Milner had Liverpool in front before Lacazette latched on to a wonderful through from Iwobi to slot an excellent equaliser.

It was the Nigerian’s second assist of the season and it was enough to see the Gunners maintain their unbeaten run, which has now stretched to 13games.

That result takes Iwobi and his team mates up to fourth on the league standings, with Liverpool back at the top, one point ahead of Manchester City who host Southampton on Sunday.

For Iwobi, his 22minutes appearance after replacing Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not go unnoticed. Here are reactions to his impact against the Reds and that wonderfully threaded through pass to Lacazette.

Iwobi should've started, kodwa Mkhi played well https://t.co/Q1i2FfZhAz

Arsenal are moving in the right direction under Emery.

A good fighting spirit & all players willing to do more than just pass around.

Iwobi has really improved & discovering his game. #PoojaFootball

Left to me, I'd have started Iwobi over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Sounds odd but winning or losing, bringing on frightening quality like Auba is only ever going to improve my team. Today Emery has only had to call on Iwobi, Ramsey & Welbeck. #ARSLIV
