Egypt will host the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament from November 1 to 15, www.aclsports.com reports.
CAF has confirmed that the North African country will stage the competition for the second successive year and the third time overall, following its hosting of the inaugural edition in 2021.
Eight clubs will compete for the continental title, with six places confirmed so far. Five teams secured qualification through their respective zonal competitions, while defending champions AS FAR of Morocco received automatic entry.
Morocco will have two representatives, with AS FAR joined by Fath Union Sport (FUS) Rabat, who qualified through the North African Football Union (UNAF).
Two-time champions Mamelodi Sundowns will represent South Africa after qualifying through COSAFA, while Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim secured the CECAFA slot. Cameroon’s Lekié FF qualified through UNIFFAC, while Mali’s USFAS claimed the WAFU Zone A spot.
The remaining two places will go to the WAFU Zone B winner and a club representing host nation Egypt.
Meanwhile, Edo Queens of Nigeria and Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana will resume their WAFU Zone B qualifying final on October 24 in Burkina Faso. The match will restart from the beginning of extra time after CAF annulled Edo Queens’ penalty shoot-out victory, with the winner securing the final WAFU Zone B spot.
