Prudent Energy Handball League: COAS Shooters record first win

Match day 5 of the Prudent Energy Handball League at Rowe Park saw COAS Shooters clinch their first win in the second phase of the league.

COAS Shooters ran over Plateau Vipers 28-10 while Safety Shooters shot down Owena Kings 26-22 in a keenly contested match. Kada Stars then defeated Prison Key Boys 33-30 as D. Defenders eased past Bornu Spiders 35-20.

League leaders, Niger United consolidated their lead at the top as they trounced home team, Lagos Seasiders 36-31 while Kano Pillars inspired by goalkeeper Solomon Michael who had the most assist in the match, taught Sokoto Rima Strikers handball lessons as they won 39-29.

For the women, Owena Queens outscored Desert Queens 29-21 as Edo Dynamos recorded a slim 19-18 win over Kada Queens.

Defender Babes defeated Abia Valliants 30-23 as Imo grasshoppers were humbled by a young and determined Plateau Peacocks 29-20. Seasider babes then lost in front of their home fans to a more experienced Safety Babes side 30-23.

At the end of matchday four, Khadijat Musbau of Lagos Seasiders and Aminu Ibrahim of Kano Pillars were voted the most valuable players of the day by the organising committee of the league, and each player got a cash price of =N=10,000 and a plaque for their performance on the day.
