Super Eagles defender and AFCON 2013 winner, Kenneth Omeruo has advised Victor Osimhen to snub Arsenal and consider Chelsea if he decides to move to the Premier League this summer, following the striker’s standout season with Galatasaray, www.aclsports.com reports.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Serie A club Napoli, has attracted the interest of several top European clubs after an outstanding campaign in Turkey. The 26-year-old forward netted 26 goals in the Süper Lig, playing a crucial role in securing Galatasaray’s 25th league title. He also scored twice in the Turkish Cup final, helping the club complete a historic domestic double—their first since 2019.
Omeruo, a former Chelsea player himself, believes Stamford Bridge would be the perfect destination for Osimhen. “Of course, Chelsea. Arsenal needs him, but I want him to win trophies,” Omeruo said on Sporty TV. “Right now, he’s the best striker in the world for me.”
The Super Eagles defender also reflected on conversations he had with Osimhen before the striker’s move to Turkey. “When he was about to go to Galatasaray, we spoke. I told him they’ll kill you with love,” Omeruo recalled. “In Turkey, the fans make you love your job. It’s not just about the club—it’s about the passion of the people. As long as you’re a footballer, you’re a star there.”
Now, with transfer rumours heating up, Omeruo is adamant that Osimhen is ready for a bigger challenge. “I want to see Victor in the Premier League, no doubt. I want him to conquer the league,” the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner concluded.
His comments have added fuel to the speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future, with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, and PSG reportedly monitoring the striker’s situation.
Osimhen’s pressing and zeal in attack have made him one of the forwards clubs will be looking to sign this summer in Europe. His exploits in Turkey have only heightened his reputation, and any move this summer is expected to command a significant transfer fee.
