Head coach of Bayelsa Queens Moses Aduku revealed on Sunday afternoon that the Super Falcons of Nigeria can make do with the duo of Adebisi Saheed and Anjor Mary after their exploit at the just concluded NWPL Super 4.

Bayelsa Queens came 3rd after defeating Adamawa Queens 4-0 in the losers final of the Super 4 at the Agege Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Two players however caught the eye of spectators and the media whenever last year’s champions were on the pitch – Adebisi Saheed and Anjor Mary, both of whom also made ACLSports team of the tournament.

“Victory is sweet. We came with empty bags but we’re not going back empty. We’re going back with the third place medal,” the ecstatic Aduku said after an emphatic 4-0 win over Adamawa Queens.

Going forward ahead of next season “I need to make sure our attack is sharp. If we had taken our chances in the first game, we would have been in the final so we need to work on that and the defence.”

Still on not taking chances, despite scoring four in the third place match Anjor Mary missed a couple of opportunities to get on the scoresheet. What will you do to improve on that, www.aclsports.com asked? “We need to go back to training to work on her and ensure she hits the target.

“For Adebisi we need to work on her positive play and gradually we will get there. But these are good players and Nigeria needs them,” he added.

Scared bigger clubs will come for them? “Maybe Europe, but if sponsorship can come into our league these girls will stop running out.

“The likes of Joy Bokiri, Reuben Charity are no more here. However if sponsorship comes in and the league becomes more organised they won’t go out easily because some of them go out for peanuts,” Aduku said.

As the third placed team in the league this season, despite failing to defend the title they won in Lagos last year, Bayelsa Queens will go home with the sum of 1million naira.
