Defending Champions of the Nigeria Women’s Premier League (NWPL), Bayelsa Queens have kept up their impressive winning run in the 2019 abridged league season.

A hard earned 1-0 victory courtesy of a 55th minute Anjor Mary strike ensured that the reigning champions are on course to defend their title with three wins and nine points from three games.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa Amazons were the biggest winners of Matchday 3, recording a convincing 5-0 win over NWPL debutants, Kaduna Queens.

The rout began in the second minute when Tarnum Dooshima put her side ahead. Chinyere Igboamalu then added a brace before Deborah Abiodun’s goal and the Amazon’s fourth ensured that the AITEO Cup winners went into the break with a pretty comfortable lead.

While debutants Invincible Angels earned a crucial three points at home to Ibom Angels thanks to an added time penalty in the first half which Hembafan Ayatsea put away.
