The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has officially launched a compulsory digital portal for player registration and club licensing ahead of the 2025/2026 Premiership season, www.aclsports.com reports.

NWFL Media Director, Samuel Ahmadu, announced the launch on Saturday, 15 November, highlighting the league’s drive to modernise administrative processes and enhance compliance.

NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi hailed the portal as a significant advancement for the league’s governance. “The platform cuts down on manual delays, minimises documentation errors, and enables real-time monitoring of all registrations,” she said

All clubs are required to register players exclusively through the portal between 14 and 21 November 2025. Required documents include national IDs, passport photos, verified age records, academic credentials, medical fitness reports, and digitally signed player contracts.

Licensing submissions will also require coaching certifications, stadium approvals, audited financial statements, ownership documents, and proof of youth development programmes.

With widespread support from clubs, the NWFL’s digital system is set to strengthen transparency, streamline operations, and raise the league’s commercial profile, attracting sponsors and international collaborations.

The NWFL Premiership will commence on 26 November 2025 and conclude on 22 April 2026.
