National Para Powerlifting silver medallist, Esther Nworgu said the thought of her mother’s advice motivated her to put up a wonderful performance at the recently concluded 2018 National Sports Festival in Abuja.

Nworgu who made her debut in the senior category told www.aclsports.com that she was not intimidated by the top lifters in the category but disappointed in herself for not winning a gold medal..

The Rivers state based powerlifter said her target is to rule the 41kg class in 2019.

She said, “I felt somehow disappointed because it wasn’t my target to win a silver medal. My target was gold medal but because of the stress we passed through spending two days on road, it wasn’t easy but in all things I give God the glory. My aim is to rule the 41kg class worldwide”.

“The smile on my coach’s face reminded me of my mother’s advice before I left home to make her proud. I am happy I won silver for her and my state”, she added.

Nworgu said, “I was not intimidated at all, all that was ringing in my mind was, if this people can make it, I can too in 2019.
