The 2026 NPFL Super 6 invitational preseason tournament is set to kick off at the New Jos Stadium, Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.
The tournament, staged by the NPFL with support from the Plateau State government, is for the teams on the continent as well as two other Plateau clubs ahead of the new NPFL season.

Champions Rangers International, last year’s runners-up Rivers United, and Federation Cup champions Elkanemi Warriors are in Jos for the tournament, and they have been joined by the likes of Plateau United, Mighty Jets of Jos and Katsina United, who have been drafted in to replace Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
At the draw ceremony held at Crispan Hotels in Jos, the teams were divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals and subsequently competing for a place in the final. According to the schedule, a third-place match will also be played between the two losing semifinalists.
In terms of the take-home prize money, the league body also failed to disclose the amount, as well as the fees to be paid to the participating teams. The tournament will run from August 19–23, 2026.
All matches will take place at the New Jos Stadium.
