Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Sporting Lagos, have completed the signing of midfielder Haruna Hadi from Remo Stars ahead of the 2026/27 season, www.aclsports.com reports.
Hadi, 25, was a key player for Remo Stars last season, but the former NPFL champions failed to beat the drop. Consequently, the attacking midfielder opted to leave and has now agreed to a two-year-deal with the Lagos-based side
”We are happy to announce the signing of Haruna Hadi,” Sporting Lagos said in a statement on Wednesday.
”The right-footed attacking midfielder joins us from Remo Stars, where he scored 10 goals and made 12 assists in 97 league appearances. Before that, he played for Stormers SC. He was also part of the Sky Blue Stars team that won the league title in 2025, and he helped the club in the CAF Champions League, playing five games and setting up one goal.
”We believe Hadi has what it takes to make an impact in our midfield and we are glad to have him with us. Welcome to Sporting, Haruna,” completes the statement.
Hadi was a huge transfer target for a host of NPFL clubs, but Sporting Lagos managed to get their hands on the midfielder. He becomes the club’s second signing of the window after Valentine Ugwu.
