Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade is set to undergo surgery after suffering a fibula fracture during Nigeria 5-0 win over Comoros in the second leg of their Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers, www.aclsports.com reports.
PSG confirmed the injury in a medical update ahead of their fixture against OL Lyonnes, stating that the 27-year-old would undergo surgery performed by one of the club’s specialist surgeons before beginning rehabilitation with the medical team.
Ajibade was forced off during Tuesday’s encounter at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, following a collision with a Comoros player in the first half. She received treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off, with Folashade Ijamilusi replacing her.
Before the international break, Ajibade had been in good scoring form for PSG, finding the net in their 3-1 victory over Fleury in the Arkema Première Ligue. The goal took her tally to four across all competitions and marked her second consecutive appearance on the scoresheet.
PSG wished the Nigerian forward a speedy recovery as she prepares to undergo surgery and begin rehabilitation. No timeline has been announced for her return to action.
