NPFL log leaders Remo Stars suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nasarawa United in their match day 26 game played on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Ikenne side, who lost 2-0 on their previous travel, suffered another defeat on the road at the Lafia City Stadium. League’s top scorer Anas Yusuf scored the game’s only goal – his 14th strike of the season – to secure all three points and send his side to 17th on the log.

Second-placed Shooting Stars visited nine-time champions Enyimba in Aba and it finished in a 1-1 draw. In-form Sodiq Ibrahim opened the scoring for the visitors before Ekene Awazie grabbed the equalizer for Stanley Eguma’s side just before the break. Despite the point on the road, the Oluyole Warriors are still nine points behind Remo Stars, while Enyimba stay just outside the top 10.

In other centres, it finished goalless between Heartland and Elkanemi in Owerri, and it was the same outcome in Ilorin between Kwara United and Abia Warriors. Late 1-0 wins for Kano Pillars and Plateau United over Akwa United and Bayelsa United respectively.

Defending champions Rangers International strolled past Sunshine Stars 3-0 in Enugu. Bashir Usman, Joel Odoh and Kingsley Maduforo scored in a first-half blitz to send Rangers back to third on the log.

Meanwhile, Tornadoes continued their strong form on the road as they defeated bottom-placed Lobi Stars 2-0 in Bauchi. Daniel Akanbek and Victor Okoro scored for the Ikon Allah Boys.

To complete the match day, more action is expected on Thursday with Rivers United hosting Katsina United in Port Harcourt and Bendel Insurance v Ikorodu City in Benin.
