It was goals galore across the Nigeria Premier Football League match day 32 action that happened on Sunday, as Rivers United returned to the summit of the log with a convincing win over Kun Khalifat, www.aclsports.com reports.

Finidi George’s side have been on the road for the past three weeks, leaving Rangers to climb above them. However, a comeback 4-2 win over the Owerri side confirmed their return to the top.

Aniekeme Okon scored the opener, before back-to-back Kun Khalifat goals from Abdulrafiu Omolabi and Sunday Adehi put the visitors in front. Iyowuna Douglas grabbed a brace as  Handsome Surveyor joined the scoring act to secure the win.

League leaders going into this match day, Rangers International, fell 3-1 to Shooting Stars in Ibadan. Sodiq Ibrahim put 3SC in front before the visitors equalised through Chidiebere Nwobodo. Late goals from Desmond Ojietefian and Mustapha Adams ensured Shooting Stars took all three points.

Brilliant goal for an icing on the cake.

Rangers had conceded only one goal in their last eight matches but Shooting Stars loaded them with three today.

In Lagos, Ikorodu City and Warri Wolves played out a seven-goal thriller. Abayomi Ayodeji grabbed his first goal for the club, as Tosin Oyedokun and Joseph Arumala scored for the hosts including an own-goal from Chisom Ogbuu – who also scored for Warri Wolves. Igbunu Evwierhurhoma scored a brace in the second half to put an end to the entertaining contest.

It finished goalless between Barau FC and Katsina United in Kano, while ten-man Remo Stars picked their first point on the road under Usman Abd’Allah with a 1-1 draw with Elkanemi Warriors in Maiduguri. Earlier on Saturday, Bendel Insurance were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Plateau United.

In the Abia derby in Aba, Enyimba left it late to beat Abia Warriors 2-1. Chidera Michael scored the opener and the winner for the former champions, while former Elephant Emeka Obioma was the goalscorer for Imama Amapakabo’s side.
