NPFL: Enyimba confirm exodus of 22 players

Former Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Enyimba, have confirmed the exodus of 22 players from the club ahead of the 2025/26 season, www.aclsports.com reports.

In a statement on the club’s website, the People’s Elephant appreciated the services of the players and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Among the players who have left the club are Junior Lokosa, Somiari Alalibo, Ani Ozoemena, Brown Ideye, and Elijah Akanni. A good number of the players have been spotted in several other NPFL team camps ahead of the new campaign.

Others include: Imo Prince Ikemdinachi, Musa Usman Babalolo, Innocent Gabriel, Nelson Michael, Alade Muyiwa Balogun, Nnachi Chidiebere, Chisom Ejio,  Fatai Abdullahi, Imo Obot Udo, Umeh Gozie, Olufemi Opeoluwa, Chidera Eze, Ukadiike Chiemerie Divine, Augustine Onyemaechi, Gideon Peter, Tobias Orkuma, and Leonard Obinna.

Apart from the aforementioned, the trio of Obichere Wisdom Odinaka, Purpose Ahubaraezemma, and Samuel Buah Nuako have been loaned out to newly promoted Kun Khalifat FC.

Enyimba will kick off their 2025/26 NPFL season on August 24 with an away clash against newcomers Barau FC. The People’s Elephant will then host back-to-back fixtures in Aba, welcoming Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United as they aim to lay down an early marker in their pursuit of another league crown.
