The result at Kasarani Arena in Nairobi saw Nigeria suffer their second defeat of the competition, with Cameroon claiming a straight-set victory.
Cameroon made a strong start in the Group C encounter, taking the opening set 25-20 before extending their advantage with a 25-15 success in the second set.
Nigeria struggled to find a response in the third set as Cameroon maintained control of the contest, eventually taking it 25-16 to complete the 3-0 victory.
The defeat comes a day after Nigeria secured their first win of the tournament with a 3-2 victory over Ghana, having earlier lost 3-1 to Tunisia.
Cameroon, who won three consecutive titles in 2017, 2019 and 2021, secured their place in the round of 16, while Ghana defeated Tunisia 3-2 in the other Group C fixture.
