Nigeria junior male team now 38th in the world, 4th in Africa

Nigeria junior male handball team is placed 38th in the World and 4th in Africa according to International Handball Federation (IHF)World ranking.

The U20 team qualified for the Junior World Cup in Spain after finishing in third position at the Africa Junior Nations Cup in Marrakesh Morocco.

Egypt still maintain their number one spot in Africa and 7th in the world.

Tunisia and Algeria are second and third in Africa, and 17th and 25th in the world with 1447 and 1425 points respectively, Angola is fifth in Africa and 43rd position in the World.

2014 European junior champions, Germany is the leader in the rankings, followed by Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Russia in the top 5 category.

Meanwhile, disbanded Nigeria men’s senior team is now ranked 46th in the World and 6th in Africa.

The Top 5 African teams include Egypt (15th in the world), Tunisia (17th in the world), Algeria (21st in the world), Morocco (35th in the world) and Angola (42nd in the world)

Germany tops the table in the Senior Men category, followed by Slovenia, Denmark, Russia and France in the top 5.

However, Nigeria Under 18 male, and the country’s female teams were not ranked among the listed countries due to the lull in activities over the years.
