Nigeria Int’l Open: Nwosu not intimidated by foreign opponents

National Champion, Chinazum Nwosu (-53kg) says the presence of foreign at the upcoming Nigeria International Taekwondo Open will not deter her from clinching gold.

The 2018 Africa Bronze medallist told  www.aclsports.com that she is training hard with the help of her coach, John Victor.

She said, “I have never been afraid or felt intimidated by other athletes. I am so ready to face anyone that comes out to fight in my weight class.

“I am preparing so hard for the National Taekwondo International Open with the help of my coach, John Victor as well as my team mates. The gold medal is sure of saying in the country”.

Commenting on the latest ranking by the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Nwosu attributed it constant training, dedication and discipline.

She said, “I feel great, knowing that I have trained so hard to maintain the number one place in Nigeria.

“I am taking each competition one step at a time because I will definitely use the Nigeria opens as part of my trials to know how ready and prepared I am for the forth coming All African Games in Morocco”.

Nwosu who hails from Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia state, won silver at the 2015 All African Games, gold at the 2017 Ghana Open and bronze at the 2018 African Taekwondo Championships.
