Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has listed captain Ahmed Musa in his squad for this month-end’s Unity Cup Tournament in London, www.aclsports.com reports.
Chelle, who admitted that “we’re looking forward to taking part in the Unity Cup as it will give us the chance to try out a few new players in different roles, helping us to strengthen our squad before the matches in September and October,” has also added other standout Nigeria Premier Football League players in the Unity Cup squad.
Junior Nduka, who was part of the Eagles team that qualified to CHAN and won the NPFL with Remo Stars, has been handed a call up. Other centre-backs called up include Semi Ajayi, Igoh Ogbu and fellow NPFL star Ifeanyi Onyebuchi.
In the full-back positions, Sodiq Ismail (Remo Stars) and Waliu Ojetoye (Ikorodu City), who has the most assists in the NPFL this season, have been called up alongside regular Bruno Onyemaechi.
Niger Tornadoes’ Papa Daniel Mustapha, and Rangers duo – Saviour Isaac and Collins Ugwueze – will have to contend with Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka and Chrisantus Uche in midfield.
In attack, Ahmed Musa is joined by Adamu Abubakar (Plateau United) and Sikiru Alimi (Remo Stars). Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Tolu Arokodare and Kelechi Iheanacho complete the cast of players invited for the tournament.
The Unity Cup Tournament, will feature Nigeria, Jamaica, Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago, and the 17,250-capacity Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London is set to host the tournament.
A day after Trinidad and Tobago face Jamaica, Nigeria will take on Ghana in the second semi-final on Wednesday 28th May.
Saturday, 31st May is for the grand finale, with the losers of the semi-final fixtures featuring in the third-place game, before the Final to determine winners of the tournament.

For the friendly with Russia’s senior men team at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow on Friday, 6th June, Eric Chelle has picked a total of 21 players.
William Troost-Ekong, fellow defenders Olaoluwa Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika, and forwards Victor Boniface and Sadiq Umar joining a number of picks from the Unity Cup cohort.
