Chelsea record signing, Alvaro Morata is convinced he can improve his performances in a Chelsea shirt after his hat trick against Stoke at the weekend.

After scoring six goals and two assists in six league games, the Spanish international said: “I am happy with my start in the Premier League but I can do better.”

He attributed this to an expected improvement in his physical condition. “I had two chances at the end of the game against Stoke but didn’t take them. I also need to improve my physical condition to be as good as possible,” he said to Evening Standard.

The next four days would see Chelsea travel away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League followed by a home game against high flying Manchester City at the Bridge.

An optimistic Morata said: “It’s a very important week before the international break and we need to give our best for these two matches. We have a Champions League match now and we have to keep working.”
