Speaking with ACLSports.com, Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Joe Aribo revealed his admiration for the legendary Jay Jay Okocha who he watched as a child and describes as simply amazing.

“Growing up I watched Jay Jay Okocha a lot. Seeing what he could do with the ball and how good he was, it was just amazing watching him,” the Scottish League Champion said when asked which player he models his game after.

Aribo himself has been nothing short of amazing since his first cap for the Super Eagles of Nigeria both for club and country and was a vital piece in the puzzle for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers as they won the Scottish League title this season.

“I’m thankful to God for the title because without God I’m not going to be anywhere, but just that feeling of winning and what it did to me was amazing and it’s motivating me to want more, to want to keep pushing, keep fighting and keep being the best I can be and hopefully win more titles with my club and national team also,” he said.

Adding that “We are making sure we will be prepared (for the Benin and Lesotho games) because we know how important it is. We want to win both games and we will give our all and do what we can to get the two wins.”
