Nigeria’s shot putter Ogochukwu Modesta Ogili wins Silver in the women’s shot put event at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, www.aclsports.com reports.

Ogili delivered a composed and assured performance across all six rounds, growing in confidence as the contest progressed. After opening with 6.94m, she recorded her standout throw of 7.35m in the third round, a mark that secured her place on the podium.

The medal marked Nigeria’s second in Athletics at the Games, following Obiageri Pamela Amaechi’s silver earlier in the discus. Gold went to Bahrain’s Rooba Alomari, who produced a winning throw of 7.39m in the penultimate round to narrowly surpass Ogili, while Saudi Arabia’s Nadha Alhumayolani claimed Bronze with a best effort of 6.13m.

Meanwhile, Patience Okon George secured second place in her heat of the women’s 400m at the Games, clocking 52.91 seconds. She finished behind Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser, who led the race with 52.13 seconds, while Morocco’s Salma Lehlali claimed third in 53.26 seconds.
