Handball: Mindscope Academy stun Lagos State female U-18

Mindscope Academy recorded a stunning victory over Lagos Under-18 female side 26-25 on day 1 of the National Under-18 and Under-20  Hanball Championship at the Rowe Park in Yaba, Lagos on Sunday.

Team Lagos led the first half by a point 11-10 after the goalkeeper, Kehinde Babatunde of Lagos saved 7 direct penalties.

Mindscope Academy capitalised on errors made by the Olubukola Duru’s girls to stage a comeback and seal victory with less than 30 seconds to go winning by 26-25.

In the male Under-21, Kwara State beat Bayelsa State 38-29 in an intensive game in front of the crowd at Rowe Park, Yaba.

Bayelsa State were in control in the first 10 minutes but made avoidable  mistakes which made the harmony boys take the first half by 17-13.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Under-21 male side ran riot on a deplated Nasarawa State Under-21. Lagos recorded 55-31 against a Nasarawa team who were without a substitute.

Lagos freely operated in the half of the North Central boys after they were given a red card 15 minutes into the second half.

Day 2 Fixtures:

U18 male: Kogi state vs Future Pro (8am)

U21 male: FCT vs Kwara state (10am)

U21 female: Lagos state vs Kwara state (2pm)

U18 male: Kogi state vs Lagos state (4pm)
