Arsenal Women FC and SC Corinthians are set for a historic clash in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup final at Arsenal Stadium on 1 February 2026, with a record $2.3 million prize at stake.

ROAD TO THE FINAL

Arsenal secured their place in the tournament by beating FC Barcelona Femení 1–0 in the 2024/25 UEFA Women’s Champions League final, thanks to a decisive goal from Stina Blackstenius. The Gunners carried that momentum into the semi-finals, thrashing African champions ASFAR 6–0 at Brentford Stadium on 28 January.

Corinthians, South America’s reigning champions, qualified after a dramatic 5–3 penalty shootout win over Deportivo Cali following a goalless draw in the 2025 Copa Libertadores Femenina. Nicknamed Timão, the Brazilian side reached the final with a disciplined 1–0 semi-final victory over CONCACAF Champions Gotham FC.

A CLASH OF CROWNS

Although Arsenal and Corinthians have never met in a competitive final, both arrive with pedigrees forged through sustained domestic and continental success. Arsenal, the most decorated English women’s club, boast two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles and 63 trophies overall.

Corinthians have won six Libertadores and seven Brasileiro Feminino titles, cementing South America’s dominance. The final is a rare intercontinental showdown: Arsenal aiming to assert European supremacy, Corinthians determined to prove South America’s finest can win globally.

TEAM PROFILES

Arsenal thrive on precise, attacking football, driven by intelligent movement and pace in the final third. Their midfield controls tempo and territory, while wide players and forwards combine creativity with clinical finishing, making them a constant threat.

Corinthians bring experience, discipline and a winning mentality forged in high-pressure environments. Defensively solid and tactically astute, they balance structure with moments of individual flair capable of deciding tight matches.

COACHES’ THOUGHTS

Renée Slegers (Arsenal head coach):

“In this competition, competing against the champions of other continents, we had to earn the right to get into the final and I think the team did that brilliantly the other night. So very excited about the final, we look forward to it and it’s a special moment for us.”

Lucas Piccinato (Corinthians head coach):

“I really value this moment, it’s the final of a very high-profile competition. Our journey over the years has brought us here. Arsenal are one of the best teams in the world, but we want to leave the UK with the trophy in hand and we’ll do the best we can.”
