Kenya women volleyball team qualify for Olympics

Kenya women’s team have qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan. Kenya defeated Nigeria 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-12) to win their third consecutive match at the 2020 CAVB Volleyball qualifiers in Cameroon.

The head coach of Kenya women’s volleyball team, Paul Bitok told www.aclsports.com that his players have rightfully earned the title of being an African Powerhouse.

Bitok said qualifying for the Olympics after 16 years means a lot to him and his country. He said, “Once again, we do after 16 year of waiting qualifying for Tokyo 2020 Olympics. I can’t explain in words the feeling of victory, more so at continent level and with a sole ticket to represent the continent.

“The queens indeed have rightfully earned the title of being an African Powerhouse. For God, country and fans alike, we are very grateful for the enormous support through; to the players, the staff, sponsors and federation, it is a mission accomplished and utmost appreciation for all your efforts.

He said there will now be far more work in the next few months adding that proper preparations is key to the success of the team in Japan.

Bitok said, “A harder task lies ahead and with the same energy, character and consistency, we are heading to a global stage – the Olympics.

“This is no easy task, we head straight to preparation for this huge undertaking. As coach, I am after optimal results, we must do better at world stage. For tonight, let us celebrate this victory, tomorrow – back to the grind”.
