15 year-old Falana Iyanuoluwa put up an impressive performance at the just concluded National Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) Youth and Junior League finale in Lagos.

The SS3 student of Government Girls Day, Ọkọ̀ Erin, Ilorin – Kwara State almost did a double at the finale on Sunday after emerging victorious in the female category of the Youth League falling short to Rofiat Jimoh in the Junior League final 3-1.

Speaking of her exasperating 4-3 Youth League final win over Cross Rivers’ Oku Ekpeyong, she said “I feel happy because the girl I defeated in the final has beaten me in the qualifiers like four different times and I defeated her today. I’m so happy.”

Adding that “I improved on my skills this time around,” thus making it difficult to be beaten by the same opponent again.

Still basking in the euphoria of her Youth League win and second place finish in the Junior League, Falana Iyanuoluwa adds that she looks up to players like Funke Oshonaike with the dream of being “Nigeria, Africa and World number 1 in the sport.”
