The win means Istanbul Basaksehir sit second of their group with four points – one point off Roma at the top of the group.

Elsewhere, Anthony Nwakaeme played the entire 90 minutes as Trabzonspor were beaten 2-0 at home by Krasnodar.

Two second half goals from Marcus Berg and Tonny Vilhena ensured that the Turkish side remain bottom of the group with one point from three games.

In Group G, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Aribo were late second half substitutes as Rangers held Porto to a 1-1 draw in Portugal.

Meanwhile, Arsenal wonderkid Bukayo Saka was an unused substitute as Arsenal came from behind to defeat Vitoria de Guimaraes 3-2 courtesy of two well taken freekicks from Nicolas Pepe to open his account for the North London club.
