Ronaldo netted a second-half hat-trick after his first half penalty put Portugal ahead as they strolled to a comfortable 5-1 victory at the Vilniaus Stadionas.

The goals mean the Juventus forward has now scored 93 international goals for Portugal, just 16 behind Daeli’s world record of 109 for Iran.

Also, his second half hat-trick means the 34-year-old recorded his eighth international hat-trick, with tonight’s result moving the European champions to within five points of Group B leaders, Ukraine.

The visitors took a shock lead when Velon Berisha put them 1-0 up just within a minute after kickoff before the Three Lions turned the game around at the break.

Goals from Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, an own goal from Mergim Vojvoda and a brace from Jadon Sancho saw England go into the break with a 5-1 lead.

Sancho’s goals were his first-ever goals for the Three Lions.

However, Berisha pulled one back for Kosovo after the break, with Vedat Muriqi reducing the deficit to two goals when he netted a third for Kosovo to bring scores at 5-3.

England would hold on for the win which sees them strengthen their position as Group A leaders with 12 points, three ahead of the Czech Republic, who have played a game more.

Elsewhere, World Champions, France were just too strong for Andorra following an easy 3-0 win.

Kingsley Coman, Clement Lenglet, and second half substitute, Wissam Ben Yadder, were the scorers for France.

Turkey were another big winners on the night after a 4-0 win over Moldova.

Cenk Tosun helped himself with a brace, with further goals from Deniz Turuc and Yusuf Yazici.
