Super Eagles defender, Emmanuel Fernandez, has been named Rangers FC of Scotland’s Men’s Player of the Year, www.aclsports.com reports.
The centre-back was announced the winner of the award for the 2025/26 season at the club’s awards gala.
Despite Rangers’ turbulent season, Fernandez has been one of the oustanding players ad he scored five goals in 23 league matches, and has led the backline to keep 12 clean sheets so far this season.
Fernandez’s consistency also earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season, underlining his growing reputation.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old defender recently made his debut for Nigeria in the four-nation tourney in Turkey. He made appearances against Iran and Jordan, and was able to score a goal.
With the 2026 Unity Cup set for May 26-30, in London, Fernandez might be called up once again.
It is just his debut season for Rangers, but Fernandez has remained a target for several Premier League clubs, and it is unlikely he will remain in Glasgow for next season.
