Nigerian midfielder Okechukwu Azubuike has won his first league title in Europe, with his compatriots, Chidozie Awaziem and Kenneth Omeruo were relegated in Spain.

Istanbul Basaksehir defeated Kayserispor by a lone goal at home to seal the Turkish Super Lig title with Azubuike not part of the team. However, the U23 skipper would later join up with his teammates to celebrate his first league win in Europe.

In England, West Bromwich Albion and Semi Ajayi are still on course for Premier League football next season despite a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Friday.

Ajayi started and finished the game, winning 100% of his tackles, three aerial duels, and one clearance.

Leon Balogun’s Wigan held their hosts Charlton to a 2-2 draw with the defender playing from start to finish.

In the Premier League, it was a bad day at the office for Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho after Tottenham proved just too strong for them and Leicester City.

A Harry Kane double inspired Spurs to a 3-0 home win over Ndidi and Iheanacho, who both played a part in the game.

Ndidi featured for 90 minutes while Iheanacho played for 31 minutes after coming on as a second half substitute.

For Italy based duo of Williams Troost-Ekong and Ola Aina, it was also a weekend of defeat as their clubs suffered losses.

Ekong’s Udinese were beaten 2-1 at Napoli, while Aina and Torino were handed a 2-0 loss by. Fiorentina on Sunday.

Finally, in Spain, tears flowed as Chidozie Awaziem and Kenneth Omeruo were both relegated alongside Leganes.

It was the last day of the season and they needed a win to avoid the drop but were unable to get the win after a 2-2 draw at home to champions, Real Madrid.

Both players were spectators as they sat on the bench for the duration of the game.

Oghenekaro Etebo finished his loan move with a defeat following a 1-0 loss with Getafe at Levante. Etebo was not listed for that game, however.

Elsewhere, it was a shower of goals for Super Eagles duo of Ramon Azeez and Samuel Chukwueze after 4-0 win for their respective clubs, Granada and Villarreal.

Azeez lasted the 90 for Granada, who defeated Athletic Bilbao Villarreal thrashed Eibar while Chukwueze featured for just over an hour for Villarreal.
