Swedish club Djurgården have confirmed the signing of winger Goodness Osigwe from NWFL Premiership side Edo Queens, www.aclsports.com reports.
At Edo Queens, Osigwe was a key player, contributing goals, assists, and energy as the club won the 2024 NWFL Premiership, the WAFU-B Champions League qualifiers, and finished fourth at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
She also has international experience, having represented Nigeria at U20 level, including the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Djurgården sporting director Jean Balawo on her signing: “I first noticed Osigwe during the U20 World Cup in Colombia. She made a decisive assist against Japan in a tough game, and her quality really stood out despite Nigeria losing 2–1.”
Speaking on her style of play, Osigwe said: “I am quick and like to take on opponents with my dribbling. I’ve managed to score some goals as well, and I play with confidence, which is important for me on the pitch.”
Although new to Sweden and Stockholm, Osigwe described her move to Djurgården as a privilege and an exciting step in her career.
The winger joins the Damallsvenskan side and could make her debut in Monday’s Stockholm derby against Hammarby.
