Delta 2022: Hosts lead medal table

Team Delta currently tops the medal table with 80 medals; 43 gold, 22 silver and 15 bronze. Commissioner of Information, Delta State, Mr Charles Aniagwu said that the athletes representing the state in the ongoing National Sports Festival will keep their promise of hosting and winning the games.

While addressing pressmen at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Aniagwu maintained that the state aims to keep to it’s promise of hosting to win.
However, he refuted claims circling the internet that athletes were allegedly attacked by hoodlums.
He mentioned cautioned that the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival should not be used by naysayers to score cheap political points.
He re-echoed that objectives of the Festival would be achieved saying that what we want after the festivals is to discover athletes that can represent Nigeria at the international level.
“Some persons are looking for something negative stories by painting the wrong pictures that does not depict the reality of what is on ground or help our country” he stated.
