Delta 2022: 21 Gold Medals up for grabs in Taekwando

An array of 21 Gold medals, 21 silver medals and 42 bronze medals are up for grabs at the ongoing National Sports Festival, across the 16 wings categories (8 male and 8 female competitions) and five Poomsae (Demonstration) competitions, in Taekwondo, according to the Technical Director of the Nigerian Taekwondo Federation, John Egwim.

He made this assessment while speaking to journalists at the indoor sports hall of the Stephen Keshi on Friday as taekwondo events began.

In the Male Poomsae competition, which was performed late Friday, Bayelsa won Gold, while Lagos won Silver, with Edo and Nasarawa, both clinching Bronze medals.

In the Team Female Poomsae competition, Delta won Gold, Bayelsa clinched Silver, while Lagos and Edo both won Bronze. In the individual Female, Delta won Gold,

On Saturday, in the -58 male category, Team Delta won Bronze, while in the male Lightweight category, Team Delta defeated Akwa Ibom to clinch Gold. This brings their total tally to 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.
