Deborah Sunday helped Kepler VC end their poor form with a 3-0 (25-15,25-16, 25-19) win over Rwandese Wisdom School VC at the 2024/25 Rwanda Volleyball National League (Serie A) on Saturday.

Kepler VC lost to Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) 0-3 (22-25, 20-25, 22-25) in their first match of the Rwanda National League.

Sunday told www.aclsports.com that the win brought a huge spark in the camp of the team.

The former COAS Spikers player revealed that joining the newly established Kepler VC for the season is her biggest move in volleyball.

She said, “The win against Wisdom School VC is a big relief for us after we lost our first match. The coaching crew directive was straight and simple before the encounter; win the match without losing a set. The management has created an enabling environment for all the players to thrive and we can afford to disappoint.

“Our first match of the season did not go the way we planned; I played against my former captain from Nigeria. I am optimistic the tides will change when we meet again.

The former National team player praised Elishama Elam (Coach of COAS Spikers) for resuscitating her career.

“Coach Elishama Elam is not just a coach to me but a father. When all the chips were down, he believed in me and revived my volleyball career. He knew about my travails in Ghana, he kick-started plans for me to return to Nigeria and gave me a place on his team which I fought for.

“I want to appreciate those who believed in me and I assure you that I will not let you all down in Rwanda.”
