Super Eagles head Coach, Eric Chelle, has listed Remo Stars players Junior Nduka and Sikiru Alimi and 33 others in a provisional list of Super Eagles B for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) taking place in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda next month, www.aclsports.com reports.
First-choice Henry Ani from Enyimba leads a group of goalkeepers that includes Kayode Bankole from Remo Stars, Kwara United’s Badmus Nurudeen, Mustapha Lawal (Shooting Stars) and Nigeria U20 star Ebenezer Harcourt.
Defenders called up include Waliu Ojetoye, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Mohammed Kabiru and Uzondu Harrison, Sodiq Ismaila, Stephen Manyo Egbe, and Bankole Afeez.
Midfielders Saviour Isaac and Haddi Haruna, and forwards Sunday Megwo, Adamu Abubakar and Godwin Obaje, Kano Pillars midfielder Adam Aminu, and forwards Atule Joseph and Temitope Vincent have also been invited.
Both Nduka and Alimi were in the main Super Eagles team that Chelle took to Europe last month for the Unity Cup and also an international friendly away to Russia in Moscow.
Nigeria, who were losing finalists in 2018, will play their first two matches of the tournament, against Senegal and Sudan, at the Amman Stadium on the island of Zanzibar, before taking on Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
All invited players have been instructed to turn up at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State on Monday, 7th July with their international passports and current club license.
