Kelechi Iheanacho has rediscovered his magic after he continued his excellent scoring form for Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

Iheanacho netted a much-needed equaliser for Leicester during their 2-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg clash against Aston Villa.

His latest goal comes just three days after he inspired the Foxes to the fifth round of the English Emirates FA Cup with a match-winning display and goal against Sky Bet Championship side, Brentford.

With the encounter tied at 1-1 following the first leg result at the King Power, Leicester found themselves a goal down on the night after Matt Targett put Villa ahead to make it 2-1 on aggregate for the Villians.

But with 20 minutes left to play, Iheanacho’s excellent movement saw him finish a smart from Harvey Barnes to hand the Foxes a lifeline.

The Super Eagle had earlier been denied a wonderful chance by an Orjan Nyland, but would not be stopped on 70 minutes when he calmly finished from a close range to draw his side level on the night and aggregate.

It was not meant to be though, Iheanacho’s goal proved not to be enough for Leicester as two Egyptians, Ahmed Elmohamady and Trezeguet, combined effectively to break the hearts of Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Leicester fans with a last-grasps winner to book their place at Wembley.

However, on a personal note, it was another impressive outing for Iheanacho, who has now scored eight goals in 13 matches this season for Leicester.

He has now been involved in 11 goals (8 goals and three assists) in just 13 appearances for his club in the current campaign.

Up next for Iheanacho and his compatriot at the club, Ndidi, they shift attention to the Premier League, PL, where they host Chelsea this Saturday at the King Power Stadium.
