Former CAF Champions League (CAFCL) winners Enyimba on Thursday departed Lagos for Sudan ahead of this weekend’s make-or-mar tie with Al-Hilal Omdurman, reports www.aclsports.com

Both teams played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League first round clash in Aba and a place in the group stage of the 2019/20 competition is up for grabs in the second leg on Sunday.

Reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 1pm local time on Thursday and are expected to get to their destination in the early hours of Friday.

Enyimba are without three of their players who are with the home based selection of the Nigerian national team billed to compete at the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal.

The People’s Elephant are however boosted by the return to full fitness of defensive midfielder Farouk Mohammed, centre back Abiodun Adebayo and influential playmaker Dayo Ojo.

Al-Hilal will host the second leg of the encounter at the boisterous Al-Hila Stadium in Omdurman on Sunday evening with the winner advancing to the group stage of this year’s competition.
