CAF is set to unveil a new official trophy for the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), ahead of the 2024 edition, www.aclsports.com reports.

The official launch will take place on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in the host nation, just days before the tournament’s much-anticipated kick-off this weekend in Morocco. The unveiling is part of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe’s broader vision to elevate women’s football across the continent.

Further details, including the design and symbolism of the new trophy, will be revealed on the day of the launch.

The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 kicks off on Saturday, 5 July 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, with hosts Morocco facing Zambia in the opening match. Nine-time champions Nigeria, will begin their Group B journey against Tunisia on Sunday, 6 July, at Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

This year’s edition promises to be a landmark moment for women’s football in Africa, with the new trophy symbolising both a renewed legacy and the sport’s dynamic growth across the continent.
