Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo was the name on the lips of Nigerians once again after an impressive outing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria against Brazil on Sunday afternoon.
Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Brazil in Singapore after Casemiro cancelled out Aribo’s 35th minute opener – his second in as many games for the Super Eagles.
Asides his goal, Aribo was instrumental whenever the Super Eagles were on the back foot making crucial ball recoveries intercepting the attacking play of the Brazilians and also making meaningful forward runs to help the Eagles’ in attack.
In addition to a commanding performance by Joe Aribo, Nigerians seem impressed by the overall performance and pool of talents available to Gernot Rohr and his technical team; but do not think the Franco-German coach has enough to bring out the very best in this team.
In addition to that, Nigerians aren’t also pleased with Rohr’s refusal to be flexible and give more players game time in friendly games. His substitutions and in-game management have also been a subject of debate in recent times.

In the end, it was a good game of football from the Super Eagles against one of the world’s best team.
