Nasarawa Amazons have sealed their Super Six spot in Group B, joining FC Robo Queens, as Matchday 17 results in the NWFL Premiership reshaped the standings and tightened the race for qualification, www.aclsports.com reports.

Nasarawa Amazons came from behind to defeat Sunshine Queens 2-1 at the Lafia City Stadium in a crucial encounter. Chigozie Idika gave Sunshine Queens the lead in the 10th minute, but Bibiana Odoh levelled just before half-time before completing her brace in the 51st minute to secure the turnaround and seal the Amazons’ ninth win of the season. The result moves them to 32 points, just two behind leaders FC Robo Queens.

In Asaba, Delta Queens boosted their survival hopes with an emphatic 3-0 win over Remo Stars Ladies. Temitope Titilayo opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Vweire Samson doubled the advantage seven minutes later. Rita Tsebee added a late third to seal the win, condemning Remo Stars Ladies to a fourth consecutive match without victory and dealing a major blow to their Super Six ambitions.

Dannaz Ladies and Abia Angels played out a goalless draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. While it initially appeared to be dropped points for Abia Angels, results elsewhere turned it into a valuable outcome, as they remain third in Group B and now sit four points clear of Remo Stars Ladies.

Osun Babes continued their fight for survival in Ile-Ogbo, edging Robo Queens 1-0 thanks to Nofisat Tijani’s 36th-minute strike. The result marks their fifth win of the season and keeps them within touching distance of safety.

Ahudiyannem Queens continued their push with a 3-0 away win over Confluence Queens in Iyahmo, making it back-to-back victories. Mary Lucky netted twice (14’, 36’) to make it three consecutive matches on the scoresheet, while Loveth Edeh added a third in the 72nd minute. The win moves them within two points of fourth-placed Remo Stars Ladies.

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens secured a 2-0 win over Heartland Queens to maintain their lead in Group A. Aminat Folorunsho gave the hosts the lead in the 25th minute, while Sofiat Bankole sealed the result late on.

Rivers Angels produced a dominant display in Port Harcourt, thrashing Ekiti Queens 4-0. Patience Otubo opened the scoring before Abasiofon Uwah struck twice and Zainab Oduga added her name to the scoresheet. Uwah’s brace takes her tally to 10 league goals this season, just one behind top scorer Atume Doosuur.

Edo Queens were held to a 1-1 draw by Ibom Angels at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Esther Inyang gave Edo Queens the lead in the 54th minute, but Jessica Mark equalised late on to ensure the points were shared.

Elsewhere, Adamawa Queens secured a 2-0 win over Naija Ratels, with Miracle Isioma Nwakolie opening the scoring in the 17th minute before Ifeoma Damian added a second in the 75th minute to seal their sixth win of the campaign.

Table implications

In Group A, Bayelsa Queens remain top, while Rivers Angels climb back into second place and Edo Queens slip to third following their draw.

In Group B, FC Robo Queens remain top on 35 points despite defeat but had already secured their Super Six place. Nasarawa Amazons join them after confirming qualification with 32 points.

Abia Angels strengthen their hold on third position, now four points ahead of Remo Stars Ladies, who must win their remaining matches and hope for favourable results elsewhere to keep their Super Six hopes alive.

Ahudiyannem Queens and Delta Queens move up to fifth and sixth respectively, while Osun Babes close the gap to safety to two points. Confluence Queens remain bottom of the table on 14 points.
