Ameh Owoicho said Borno Spiders will shock their opponents at the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja. Coach Owoicho said the performance of his players at the 2018 National Sports Festival will be translated to the league.

He told www.aclsports.com that his players camped for six weeks and motivated to perform beyond expectations.

He said, “If you are a keen follower of the game, you will notice that after the end of the second phase last season in Lagos, we participated at the National Sports Festival and our performance was one of the most exciting results.

“Borno state made it to the top four teams at the festival; we hope to upset some record because we had six weeks camp and bought new players which we believe can uplift the team to the next stage of the game”.

Owoicho revealed that the highest goal scorer of last season, Jamilu Ibrahim will be missed at the club.

He said, “Borno Spiders will miss the services of Jamilu Ibrahim because we know how skillful and talented the player is but we have plans to cover up his space.

“Our message to the North East is to reawaken handball within the zone; we hope the stakeholders of handball within the zone will look into the game”.
