The Captain of Bayelsa Queens HC, Blessing Peter says she is confident her team will bounce back to winning ways at the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League.

Bayelsa Queens recorded two wins and seven losses at the end of the first phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League in Benin, Edo State.

Peter in a chat with www.aclsports.com stated that Bayelsa Queens will not be relegated at the end of the 2023 League.

She said the win over Benue Queens and Imo Grasshoppers gave the team assurance of playing better in the second phase.

“I am optimistic they will bounce back to winning ways in the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League.

“The defeats recorded in the first phase will help the team to identify their errors and work hard to make amends”, she explained to www.aclsports.com

Peter said, “Our inspiration for winning Benue Queens and Imo Grasshoppers was the fear of relegation. The team cannot afford to go back to Division One after gaining promotion for the second time.

“I always charge my team to do better and forget about the shouts from the bench. I make sure I encourage myself during and after games despite any mistakes.”

She appealed to the Bayelsa State Government to encourage the team ahead of the second phase.

She said, “My message to the State Government is for them to keep encouraging us as they have been doing and we promise to make them proud”.

Bayelsa Queens are currently 8th position on the women’s log at the end of the first phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League.
