The Technical Director of Cycling Federation of Nigeria, Bashir Mohammed has been appointed the Secretary General, Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC).

The appointment was made at the end of the Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday.

The President of Cycling Federation of Nigeria, Chief Giandomenico Massari and the Technical Director, Bashir Mohammed also became member of Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) election delegates and CAC Management committee respectively.

In an exclusive interview with www.aclsports.com, Bashir Mohammed said the appointment is a huge success for Nigeria promising to work for the growth of cycling in Africa.

He said, “Today is a wonderful day for me, and I am honoured to take on the role of CAC Secretary General.

“I believe this role is a perfect fit for my skills and experience; strategic, high impact team-building in international settings which I will use to help grow cycling in Africa.

“I am also looking forward to bringing my experience in governance and compliance to bear on the important reform work that is already under way”.

Bashir Mohammed is the Executive Director of Sports in the Borno State Sports Council and member of the CAC Management Committee
