TojeMarine HC beat Niger United 31 to 23 goals to remain the only men’s unbeaten team at the ongoing 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League (phase 1) in Benin City, Edo state on Monday.

Both teams who were unbeaten before the match, produced a high level of artistry during the encounter at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

From the blast of the whistle, both teams were at each other’s jugular leaving no room for mistakes as both teams converted their chances at the slightest opportunity. TojeMarine outsmarted Niger United in the first half of the match leading with four goals (16 to 14 goals).

Upon resumption of the second half, TojeMarine outclassed Niger United with their speed and precision with new signing John Shagari punishing his former club. TojeMarine pushed harder in the last 10 minutes of the game to get an all-important win against Niger United 31 to 23 goals.

John Shagari who was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) told www.aclsports.com that securing a win against his former club feels good.

He revealed that the tactical approaches of the coaching crew won the game against defending champions, Niger United.

He said, “I had the intention of giving my best today against my former team, Niger United and I already knew victory was ours. I strongly believe in the tactical abilities of my coach and we followed all the instructions given to us. As a result of our adherence to the coaches, we won the game.
