Right Back, Jacinta Ani late second-half goal helped Safety Babes beat Defenders Babes 27 to 26 goals at the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Premier League in Lagos.

Ani’s goal ensured Safety Babes maintain their 10 game unbeaten run at the ongoing Ardova League.

Tagged as the star match of Day 1, Safety Babes and Defender Babes produced lots of spectacular movements during the 60 minutes of play. Coach Innocent Nwankwo (Safety Babes) and Coach Sunday Ajana (Defenders Babes) were on their toes throughout the second half due to the intensity of the match.

An elated Jacinta Ani told www.aclsports.com that she was over the moon to have scored the winning goal in such a fantastic manner adding that credit must be given to her teammates for always believing in themselves.

“I feel happy that I scored goals for my team and happier that my team won this crucial match against the Defenders Babes. It has always been my dream to play for Safety Babes and I am very happy that I was the one who scored the winning goal against Defenders Babes.

“My seniors in the team have been very supportive to me and when the opportunity to score the winning goal presented itself, I had no other choice than to convert my chance.

“When the game started, everywhere was tensed because both teams needed to win the match but as it progressed, it was not easy for us; but at the end of the day we snatched the victory”, she told www.aclsports.com

Safety Babes will face Benue Queens in their second match of the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League (second phase) in Lagos on Wednesday.
