Nigeria’s teenage sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre continued her impressive run in Hammamet, Tunisia beating home favourite, Jeribi Gheida to reach the semi-finals of the Under-16 African Junior Championship on Thursday.

Quadre who trashed Tunisia’s Gheidi 6-3, 6-1 will next face Yasmine Kabbaj of Morocco on Friday.

In three previous meetings, the Nigerian has fallen to defeats to Kabbaj and would have to end the poor run against the Moroccan if she has to make the final.

Kabbaj has had quite a year so far, winning a Grade 5 event in Cairo in January. Last month, she reached the semi-finals of the Grade B2 event in Marrakesh, Morocco.

“Tomorrow is going to be very tough for me because I have lost to her (Kabbaj) three times in a row and I am looking forward to the match,” Quadre told ntftennis.com

In the doubles event, the duo of Quadre and Angela Okutoyi were beaten 7-6, 6-3 by Moroccan pair of Sara Akid and Yasmine Kabbaj on Thursday.
