IHF Challenge Trophy: Nigeria U21 lose to Chinese Taipei

Nigeria U21 team lost to Chinese Taipei 30-29 in her first game of the IHF Challenge Trophy in Kosovo. Nigeria who is returning to the international scene after her absence could not hold the Chinese Taipei in the final minutes as the Asian side came from two goals behind to win the game with a goal.

At half-time, Chinese Taipei led Nigeria 16:14 in an intense match at the Palace of Youth and Sports.

The captain of the U21 team, Danlami Abdullahi urged Nigerians to pray for the team as they face Kosovo by 7pm today.

He said, “Your prayers is all the team needs as we play our crucial match against Kosovo. Lord, we need your helping hand”.

Meanwhile, the final game of the second day of Kosovo 2019 featured Asia against Nigeria with Chinese Taipei breezing to victory against Nigeria by 18 goals.

The first half of the game went the way of Chinese Taipei as they outplayed Nigeria winning 18-8, with 10 goals margin.

Chinese Taipei goalkeeper, Tsai Chih Chang frustrated the Nigeria players as he stopped crucial goals.

Nigeria U19 team will face Paraguay by 1pm on Thursday while the U21 team faces Kosovo by 7pm in a crucial encounter.
