Last year’s AITEO Cup finalists, Ibom Angels qualified for a second successive Cup final on Wednesday evening following their win over Edo Queens in Owerri.

Ibom Angels defeated Edo Queens by two goals thanks to Emem Essien’s brace in the 15th and 26th minute after a dominant first half display. However in the second half, Ibom Angels were put under pressure by the Edo Queens attack but the Akwa Ibom based team held on for an important victory to qualify for back to back AITEO Cup finals.

After falling to fellow South South rivals Rivers Angels, Ibom Angels will look to make amends for last year’s loss this year irrespective of who makes it to the finals between Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens.

It is also possible that we witness a repeat of last year’s final between Ibom Angels and Rivers Angels but whoever qualifies between both teams on Friday, it sure promises to be an exciting final match up on the 23rd of October.
